Hi Ladies,

My finance lost his father some years ago, so I was planning on having a little "in memory" table at the recption, maybe light a candle and a picture of him on the table ..

I'm wondering if anyone may have done a in memory candle .. If so how ??

I havent done one but we were planning a small side table with the guest book and some special flowers and a candle, with framed pictures of us with our family members that we recently lost.  Just a simple reminder that we missed them for our wedding.

~*~ bought our first house, going on our first vacation, can't wait for the first day of our marriage~*~

It was SUPER easy! We got a cheap scentfree candle from Wal-Mart then printed up the In Memory bit on nice paper, glued it to the candle and then added some ribbon in our wedding colours on each end of it.

I know at Wal-mart you can get photos printed onto frosted candle holders.  Just an idea if you wanted to have a picture of the people you're remembering around the candle.  I know other photo finishers do the same (or similar), just have to ask I think!

I had no idea Wal mart did that.  I am definately going to Wal Mart tonight to get my candle and a memorial poem printed on it.  Thanks for the info

My FH and are going to do something similiar to this.  Nobody in the family is aware of it.

There are a number of people who have passed away recently since we got engaged, not to mention our grandparents whom we both lost several years ago, but feel they will be us in spirit the entire day.

I had purchased some beautiful vases from another bride on here, they are deep blue glass.  I was going to put some stones in the bottom, with a flameless candle, then fill the vase with artifical calla lilies and other filler flowers.  On each calla lily (which is our flower theme) will be the name of the loved one we lost recently.

I have yet to find a poem I will have printed out and framed to be placed by the vase, which will be placed close to the guest book.

I had seen that Invitations by Dawn had also had for sale a candle as well as a pre-printed vase for this exact thing.
