I WAS going to go with silk flowers for many reasons, 1) we are getting married 4.5 hours away from here and I didn't want to deal with a florist THERE and not see the flowers etc until days before the wedding 2) I could get the bouquets WAY in advance so I'd know what they looked like 3) i was going to try and do them myself to save money and i thought it would be fun

but then in the end i decided to go REAL FLOWERS for many reasons LOL 1) my florist HERE has promised me that these flowers will keep extremely well for our travel (calla lilies don't wilt) they will be packaged with a water source and long stems for the hand wrapped bouquets/bouts and we can trim the stems as required the morning of the wedding (i bought a few sample flowers to see the color and lasting time and they are wonderful) 2) finding the silk flowers i wanted/had in mind was proving to be VERY difficult and almost going to cost the same as real flowers 3)  real flowers add that more elegant, romantic, delicate, softness that silks just can't give you

keep in mind that i only have 1 MOH, 1BM, my bouquet and then we'll have 2 GM bouts, 1 for FH and one to match for his son the ring 'dude' (he's 10 lol).  So I can see if people have BIG wedding parties, real flowers would cost them much more than would cost me.  sometimes you can get silks in bunches and would save money.

But like a pp said, make sure they are good quality!!! I've seen many silk flowers that look really bad IMO... and that would be so dissapointing...

I chose silk for all of the same reasons as the others and I couldn't have beat the price.

Real for sure, because I dont like silk flowers, i feel they are tacky (I know I am going to get backlash for this one, and I know you can get incredibly real looking ones i just feel like they are tacky) JMO dont crucify me! Plus I have absolutly no desire to keep them, and they are not environmentally friendly (plastics etc) and my real flowers will decompose nicely.
