Hey ladies.

My FH and I are moving veryy soon and we are in the middle of shopping around for some furniture and appliances.  We need a fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer.  Any suggestions?  We also need a mattress and bedroom furniture.  Any suggestions on a type of mattress?

Also, we have been to all the major stores, Brick, Leons, Bay, Sears etc..but we are wondering if there are any other stores that offer some better prices on these items?  Any ideas?  I heard of a place in Richmond Hill, cant remember the name though that has brand name appliances with better pricing.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!

How exciting for you!  Congrats!!!!! Dh and I are moving soon too and just bought a wack of new stuff!  We got a mattress today actually, from Sleep Country.  They have a sale on the Seeley "bowling ball" mattress, and a King was $1600 off regular price.  I would recommend going there and just trying all the beds and see what you like.

I don't know if some places have different pricing than others, I bought some things from both MJM furniture (couch and bedroom suite) and The Brick (dining room table) and we went back and forth with pricing and got at LEAST $400 off from sticker price, on each item we bought.  Seriously!  So hopefully either you or your FH can talk people down in price.  At first I thought it was crazy and that I would never ever do that, but people kept telling me too, so I did and we've saved at least $2000 combined from everything we bought!

Good luck!!!

We shopped around allot and found the bay to be the best b/c of their Registry Finishing program.  We bought Bosch Fridge & Stove and a Miele Dishwasher.  Very expensive but they are great.  Both the fridge & Stove were $3500 at most places and the Bay gave them to us for $2750, that's a big difference.  If you registered at the bay, that's where you should go.  For furniture DH and I are both into real woods, no MDF furniture which unfortunately is what Leon's & Brick furniture is mainly made of.  I found one store in Markham that I love. Monaca Furniture, beautiful pieces.  Kincaid Furniture & Hooker are my favourites.

When we bought our house we went to the Sears at Dixie Outlets. We bought the most amazingly comfortable bed there for $300 including the box spring. It was put in the spare bedroom and I often sneak in there in the middle of the night because it is so much better then our bed (that was bought at sleep country for a LOT more money).

They also have appliances there that seem to be a good price. If you buy from there you just have to be sure since they don't accept returns. I am pretty sure that everything still has a warranty though (someone correct me if I am wrong please)
