I am on the hunt for a new oven. We've definitely decided on gas and I think I've found a nice whirlpool one that I really like and it fits in our budget. My question for you ladies is about convection ovens. I like the idea... but not so much the price lol. Did anyone consider convection, and what did you end up buying? Is the extra money really worth it?

Ours is convection and I don't even know what it means except sh!t burns when you are convection baking and go over your time by even a MINUTE! LOL
It seems to cook faster (and aparently more evenly) but I have yet to use my oven for roasts as the thought of red meat turns my stomach right now.  As far as pizzas and lasagnas go, any old oven will do!

My mom has a convection oven and it really does cook things in half the time, but I find things get really dry.

If my understanding is correct a convection oven is like a regular oven but contains a fan to circulate the hot air around.

I am not lucky enough to have one of my own but the times that I have used one I enjoyed it immensley!  I find that you don't have to turn the heat up as high and that there is a much more even cooking temprature.

If you are some one who is really into baking convcetion is the only way to go!

I've got one and I could never go back. I love love love that everything cooks evenly and the bottom is never burnt. If my new place didn't have a convection already, it would be my first purchase.
