So we have been gearing up to buy a house. It is in the 'master plan'. And then we got our market value quote from our agent. And with the craptastic market we are going to loose 65,000. We has put 100,000 down on our condo and figured we could loose a bit.
And then to make things even worse, DH had some debt when we meet so we changed it from a loan to a HELOC. Well, because we are not putting all of that original amount down we have to pay the HELOC back. Which means we have nothihng left
I am so sad, and not sure what to do from here. We wanted to start TTC in January and seeing as how we living in an adult only condo we have to be out to start that. And the other thing is we are tired of where we are. It made sense at the time, but now neither of us wants to be there and it is just all bad.
Any one in banking that can give us any ideas? The other thing that sucks is that houses are great prices right now so there has beena condo dump in our area so the market value is less then it should be because of that.
Sigh
I am just so ready for the next step and feel like we are stuck and not because of something we did!

Can you not get a consolidation loan instead of a mortgage so you can use the new loan to pay off the old loan and the new house?

I've never heard of any rules saying that you can't be preggo in an adult only building. Do you think that you and the market that your in will be in a better position in a few (9 ish) months? It might take time to conceive anyway.....

I wouldn't worry about the adult only building because you can have as many children as you like in an "adult-only" condo!

http://www.thestar.com/comment/columnists/article/339505

This is a quote from the Ontarion Human Rights site:

AM I ONLY PROTECTED AT WORK?

You cannot be discriminated against in your housing. A landlord cannot refuse to provide housing because you are going to be pregnant, are pregnant, or if you were pregnant and are now a parent. This can include “Adult Only” rules in condominiums. Schools and colleges are also services, which must accommodate pregnant or breastfeeding women.

You can read the rest here:

http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/issues/pregnancy

and FINALLY, what I wanted to say is that if you do decide to buy and sell in this crappy market it's not just your place that has taken a hit (although the condo market might be worse)

Thanks everyone for the ideas and suggestions. And for the info on adult only buildings. I really did not know that. We have sent info to the Bank people, and D works in HR for a bank so I hope they can put us on the right path. And true, everything has taken a hit, not just us. Sometimes that make me feel better, other times not
I will let you know what everyone says once they get back to us
