- Brass quintet for the ceremony music;
OMG, I would LOVE to have a brass quintet for our ceremony music!! (I'm a trumpet player.) I'm a trumpet player too! *waves* I've been playing since I was 11, and I've been dreaming of a brass quintet for my ceremony since I was 15... It's the only thing I had decided before we got engaged, and there was no way I would settle for anything else!

90 people invited! Waiting for RSVPs to come in...

For my former engagement, I nearly managed to get some guys from the NAC to play (I knew them from university), but the wedding was called off. (Turned out to be a good decision!) ETA - I've been playing since I was 12. I've taken breaks (like when I had kids) but I never fully give it up.

Ooh I like this thread! This is my very first post...very excited!
- Living with FH already
- Bought my dress alone (AND before we picked out my rock together LOL! But we were already 'unofficially' engaged)
- No save the dates
- Designed own invitations/programs
- No registry
- No reply cards (phone/e-mail only!)
- No flower girls/ringbearers
- No limo
- No head table - sitting at same table as parents/family
- No cake
- No dancing - just good food, music and friends/family hanging out!
- No garter toss
- No honeymoon right after
- Wedding photos before the wedding
I think that's most of it!

We are doing a few things "differently":
2 flower girls, no ring bearer - flower girls are carrying wands instead of baskets of petals or bouquets
No engagement party but 1 co-ed shower and 2 separate bridal showers have been planned already
No bachelorette - spa day instead
No engagement photos
No STDs
Invites are on recycled paper with vegetable based ink, and RSVPs are postcards
Vegan wedding cake!
No WP dance
No garter/bouquet toss
Receiving line might not happen
First dance will not be a slow dance and we probably won't dance the whole thing by ourselves (inviting little kids to join us)
We will have been living together for 2 years before the wedding and are buying a house this summer (wedding's not til '09)
No honeymoon until 2 years after wedding (FH has to finish law school)
Guests will be signing hockey jersey instead of guestbook
Guests must score on one of those plastic goalies in order for us to kiss
No limos - we're thinking of chartering a bus
That's all I can think of for now!

My mom's from Ottawa and her family's still there so I bought my dress there and a bunch of stuff at Michael's. The best quintet are professional musicians, but they're not an official brass quintet, if you will. I've been friends with a professional trumpet player for years and she's putting this together for me as a wedding present.

| I'm getting married at the hotel as opposed to a church. My father's soon to be 2nd ex-wife who is a judge will be performing the ceremony. We're not having a bouquet/garter toss. We sent out STD's ( paper kind) to OOT Guests only. We started living together before we got engaged and bought a house (and are living in it *Gasp*) Before the wedding. No late night sweet/ seafood table - Who eats those things anyways? We will just be serving cake!
