The only thing we're not doing that I've been getting a lot of flack for is not giving out "tradtional" favours. Instead we'll be making a donation to an organization called Project Canoe that provides therapeutic portaging trips to children and adolescents living in foster care or group homes.

We are doing most of the rest of that stuff though....does that make me a square?

I've always pictured myself having the bouquet toss and cake cutting and all that stuff

Theres nothing wrong with doing all the traditional stuff.

Just sometimes when you don't people tell you how bad that it and no one does that. So I wanted to start this so we could see we aren't alone and its not wrong to not do things.

Your favour idea is amazing

i had a cash bar

the wedding party did not do the "wedding party" 2nd dance

i did not dance with my dad/dh did not dance with his mom

we did a 50/50 draw

did not serve wine with dinner-i wouldn't even open the bar up till dinner was over

I don't have a groom. I guess that's pretty untraditional

Just a heads up. For those ladies that aren't serving a late night snack in Ontario that's illegal. If you are serving alcohol you have to provide your guests with some form of food. I would head to the nearest LCBO they'll be able to clarify my ramblings.

I dont think we really broke any traditions, but we:

Didnt have save the date cards

Had a cupcake cake instead

No religion in our ceremony

THat's really about it. We were pretty normal i guess, just tweaked things a bit

I am really wanting to do a certain dance, instead of just rehersing.

So, i had a DW... non tradtional right of the start.

I slept with DH the night before the wedding (i didn't think that was going to... but once we were down there... we just wanted to be together and relax that night).  We got up and had breakfast with my/ his family and then split up for the day...

no gater toss, or bouquet toss,

no father daughter dance... i would have liked to do this but the resort forgot about the cd player.

no speaches at
