What we didn't do I don't consider tradition.  But reading some of the posts I guess most of you do.  Stange the more I read on here about "normal", "traditional" and "right" makes me really see that it is such a pesonal opinion of these things, you know what I mean?

- We did not get marreid in "my" church (i'm Roman Catholic by baptisim, but they would not marry us b/c DH is divorced, so we married in the United church)

- no STD (never even heard of them until I joind this board.  I thought STD was a whole different thing!)

- Only feed supper to wedding party, parents, siblings & MC.

- no wine on tables at reception

- cash bar

- lived with Dh for 5 years before we got married

- My brother stood on my side

- Did not consumate the marriage on the wedding night

- I'm sure there is more, but as I said it's such a personal opinion, that I'm sure someone would find something I don't see if they looked into our wedding.

From what I hear that is the norm.  We have a bridal room at the venue so I'm going to try to consumate the marriage before dinner

And so the fun begins...YIKES!  2009 here we come.

Marrying the only man for me March 7th 2009:kiss:

I should add I'm getting married in Cowboy boots.

On a Rich B Poor B - a girl wore her Uggs -- hey why not?

We are getting married in the winter and I want outdoor pics (weather permitting) so better believe we WILL ALL be wearing winter boots!

And so the fun begins...YIKES!  2009 here we come.

I thought we were going to break a lot more traditions than we actually did but when I actually sat down to respond to this I couldn't think of that many!

- We got married on the beach in Jamaica
- No engagement photos
- No garter toss, although there was a napkin toss, lol
- We slept together the night before and ate breakfast together the day of
- Just a MOH and BM, no bridesmaids or groomsmen
- No STD's... though we did let everyone know through word of mouth
- Lived together for four years before wedding... or was it five... no I think it was four lol

This is Hubby's 3rd wedding (2nd marriage) and my first. I am the oldest of 3, one sister eloped and one brother married in Saskatchewan. So we are giving in and getting married in my hometown.

1)Men in BP are wearing camo vests with their black tux

2) I am wearing camo crocks, with white dress.

3) We have been been together 3 years, 4 before we are married.

4) He has two daughters.

5) Shotgun shell favors (unloaded plastic shells filled with M&M's)

As the day gets closer, I'm sure there will be more 'traditions' that I'll break (or at least bend LOL!)

Come to the darkside.... We have cookies!

How can you have 3 weddings and only be married twice? I don't get it. Was that a typo, or is there a story there?

*Eco-friendly wedding (trying to start our own tradition I guess)

*no garter toss / bouquet toss (probably)

*no stag and doe

*no shower (so far)

*cash bar with wine to be served- (FMIL's 'gift')

*no veil / train

*no officiant (two weddings with this celebration done by two of our close friends)

*no church (Pagan / Druid ceremony)

*Groom in all black

*kissing dice with 10-sides (we are both RPG gamers!)
