I am actually going through the same thing with my FH's family. My FH will complain that his parents are not as interested in the wedding as my mom and family are. They do not ask him anything about the wedding when he goes to visit them, they do not call and I do not call them.

I have came to the conclusion that I'm not going to bother and I will just do everything with the opinions of my family and FH.

You are so not alone!! I am in the same boat. FH's family last asked me how things were going at Easter... only to make brief conversation... 2 brothers are GM and have shown no interest... FH keeps feeling guilty for asking my brother to be his BM instead of one of his brothers but at least he shows an interest in our day!

Whenever I bring it up to FH he thinks I am complaining about them not contributing any $$ but it is not even about that.... this is their youngest son and they will likely show up like any other random guest... sad!

My family is knee deep in my plans with me, mom or one of my sisters has accompanied me on many excursions and they are genuinely excited and helpful.

Marrying my love, on Sept 20/08... with our children at our side.

I'll gladly give you some of mine!

My FMIL wants to get her hands in EVERYTHING, including my shower (to the point where she's calling my sister/MOH a couple times a day to make sure she's "on top of things")

She even went as far as to tell my mom that it's INAPPROPRIATE to wear a gown to my ceremony...

Be thankful! LOL

Thanks for the nice responses I feel better....I live outside of Toronto, East in North Oshawa.....His whole family is in Toronto....Mine everywhere in the U.S., UK, and here......That is my mom, dad and brother and they are the best...

A good friend of mine is stepping in as a MOH since mine went back to India with her family because of a great opportunity for work......My daughter and step daughter are going to be in the party so I am lucky to have them....

I just figure oh well they don't care, I will just tell the bridesmaid the colour and she can get whatever she wants to wear, she will be the one who will look out of place, if she refuses to give me any input then oh well.  I told FH this and he agreed....

Thanks again girls.....

Lily
