I am not decortating my parents place traditional (white), I am using the colors of my wedding, so I will be using those colors of ribbion to put around the house and I will be hanging paper laterns in front of the house and in the back. You can get them and Dollerama for 2 for a $1 or at party packagers.

We had a reception in my parents backyard. We had a tent, but we still did stuff around the outside of the  house. We planted flowers in the two flower beds along the house in our colors, and got 2 lovely hanging baskets for either side of the front door. I also planted about a dozen pots of petunias and impatiens in our colors, used on the front step and back deck. They grow easy and spread nice.

We wrapped tulle and white lights around the banister and railing of the back deck and we also used tiki torches at night to light the way out the driveway. They looked awesome!

My folks used the wedding as an excuse to get the exterior of the house washed, and mom and I gave the front and back deck a fresh coat of paint. Dad also gave a coat of paint to the storage shed at the end of the driveway.

I also bought mom a lovely flower arrangement for the main floor bathroom the day of the wedding. We had 2 portapotties for guests, but VIPs could use the bathroom inside and it made the bathroom look pretty.

Oh, and I purchased two large grapevine wreaths with colorful flowers in our colors for the front of the church and then after put them both on the doors of the storage shed. They looked awesome!

In the end, it wasn't a lot, but it was just enough to dress it up a bit.
