| Well nobody has really asked me if I'm nervous or not yet (except maybe FH) and the honest answer is yes! It's just crazy, like our wedding is next month now and it came so fast even though we were engaged for a year. But that doesn't mean I don't want to marry him. And I went through my little "cold feet" period too. The one thing I find SUPER annoying is that my mom calls like every day saying the stupidest little things lol, like that she had a wedding dream or something, and if I just don't feel like talking she is like "well you don't sound too excited" or if FH says something about the wedding and I'm not jumping for joy he says the same thing! Like, of course I'm excited lol! I'm just not jumping for joy at every single second! Haha, that's the one thing that's annoying me now

I don't think it's a huge deal when people asked. It's like people asking how you're feeling when you're pregnant or if you're nervous. Well hells yes I was nervous before the wedding! Getting married is KIND OF a big deal! People don't mean it in an offensive manner so try not to take it that way.

Not exactly the same thing, but sorta similar: my DH told me that in the weeks before the wedding, most of the guys he talked to who heard he was getting married (mostly co-workers and other random guys at work) would respond with some sort of comment about it being a mistake, or feeling sorry for him, etc. It really started to bug him - especially the guys who said he didn't know what he was getting himself into! (This is his second marriage, plus we'd already been living together for almost 2 years.) He had a few friends and a couple of co-workers who had genuine nice stuff to say, but most of it seemed pretty negative. He even got a comment at our rehearsal! It was in a hall that was being used by a community group the night before the wedding, and one of the older guys said something like "Oh, you're getting married? I feel sorry for you." My dad overheard that though, and growled back "Well I don't!" My dad is generally very mild-mannered, and this was the first time DH had seen his angry side! FH has got a lot of this at work but its playful It was usually playful when DH's coworkers said it to, but he got it so often that it really started to get to him!

lizzardd (5/5/2008) As for asshat coworkers - there's obviously a reason they're still single! The sad thing is, not all of them are! I can't believe the nerve of the ones PPs mentioned that suggested having an affair/sleeping around though - certainly says a lot for how much they value commitment and real relationships, let alone marriage.

I totally get this, if they have ot say anything they should ask if we are getting excited. Do we have everything ready, stuff like that...
