| You are supposed to get it 3 months before your wedding http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/FormDetail?OpenForm&ACT=RDR&TAB=PROFILE&ENV=WWE&NO=007-11018E Marriage is an important event in a couple's life. You'll be excited and at times challenged by all the preparation and planning the occasion requires. Yet, don't forget some important details like obtaining a marriage licence or updating your identification if you change your name. The marriage licence is valid anywhere in Ontario for three months from the date of purchase. We hope the information gathered on this site will help you with some of the changes your new life as a married couple brings.

We're getting married out of province, so we're going to try and get it at the end of May when we're in NB for someone else's wedding. In that case it'll be 3 months prior. If we can't swing that, we'll be getting it a few days before the wedding. I hope we don't have to go that route though, it'd be cutting it way too close to not give me a heart attack!

| We got ours in March, within the 3mo's. I figured as it got closer to summer the office would get busier so might as well get it done early

I've scheduled a day off work at the begining of june to get my butt down to city hall and get ours. Our wedding isn't till mid july so I figure if something goes wrong we'll have enough time before the wedding to fix it.

| I was planning on going down today, because I printed out the marriage license from the internet, we both filled it out and signed it. I was going down to city hall myself, but its a good thing I called first. I was told that I will need FH's driver's license and a birth certificate if he is not coming down with me. So I will have to wait until tomorrow to go. IT'll be 87 days till the wedding and the license is good for only 90 days in Ontario.
August 2, 2008 will be the happiest day of my life!
