| I want my guestbook to be something that i'll actually look at years later so im trying to come up with a way to incorporate pictures etc. I bought a photo album that has slots for 300 4X6s and then some cardstock that Ill cut to size. What i was thinking of doing was having a piece of cardstock at each seat for the guests to fill out and then to be collected to put together in the guestbook. I was just wondering what I should have printed on it? I was thinking the typical.... name, how do you know us, words of wisdom, favourite memory etc. What else could I put on it or how else could i design it?? Since this is a bit different Ill have instructions in the wedding program....

I really like your idea!! I think you have it covered. You should have a spot to get their email addresses, that way if they move, change their number, etc you will still have contact info for them.
I know you're great with the DIYs, I LOVED your invitations, but if you want some help designing your cards I could give you a hand. PM or email me if you would like some help.

You could set it up somewhat like the guestbookstore ones. It's easy enough in word...all you do is set up a table.
(I'm posting mine as an example)

I'm not sure about e-mail addys...I change those almost as often as I change my wardrobe.
Things you could also add:
Draw a picture of yourself.
Best memory of today.
Favorite memory of bride and groom.
Best marriage advice you were given.
Best marriage advice you have to give.
Where you traveled from.
Relationship to bride/groom.
Birthdays (always good to have).
Good luck!

Ooooo we did this for our wedding and it was so awesome! I love the guestbook I put together afterwards!!
We too had cards at each place along with a pen.
Our cards said: Share a Wedding Wish, memories for us to treasure.
We didn't say anything about putting your name on it, but we only had like 2 people who didn't - everyone else signed their name after their message, as you would in a traditional guestbook too.
We also mentioned it in our programs, something along the lines of... "as a guest book alternative we are having well wisher cards...", plus we had our mc announce it as well.
It worked really well, and I definitely recommend doing it!

thanks for the input ladies.. I feel like it's going to be a little more work than I had originally thought but that, like most DIYs, it will be worth it! Ill post some pics once it starts coming together.

I'll put a pic up once she sends me a copy of the cards. I know they are going to have our monogram at the top, and a little saying or something to go along with it.
August 2, 2008 will be the happiest day of my life!
