I am trying to come up with some type of a wedding theme for my upcoming summer wedding.  The ceremony will be outdoor and the reception inside.  Both events will happen at a resort in Kamloops, BC.  I was thinking about something like fantasy/medieval but I am having trouble coming up with anything concrete that I can vision.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or pictures?

o0o0o0 is it a Summer '09 wedding? Whens the date!?

hmm, Its always hard to pick a theme, I am in the same boat, I was on The Knot and one of the ladies there had like a vintage hollywood, so it was very old fashion but modern too, if that makes sense AT ALL. I always wanted to plan a masquerade (sp?) but that would be too informal for a wedding. Fantasy or farytale would be neat as well!

sorry if i am not much help... i have been debating over this for quite a while as well....

Marrying my highschool sweetheart,

 and my best friend...

I think a masquerade is a fabulous idea, not too informal at all. I think it was be elegant, high drama and fanciful. I would encourage you to pick up a copy of Elegant Bride Spring 2008. There is a great story on someone who hosted a fairytale wedding. All the guests came in fairytale costume, many with masquerade like masks. You might be able to translate some of the ideas for your wedding.

Kamloops, are you getting married up in Sun Peaks??? You could always do almost a Sleeping Beuty theme, with all the gorgeous trees, mystical almost, have your flower girls wear fairy wings with their dresses, it would be amaizing.

We were thinking August 15th.

I know...this is so very frustrating.  I wouldn't concern myself with it so much but I don't plan to do this again.  If I am going to spend all this money, I want it to be unique, different and not common.

Let me know if anything comes up.

ooooh if i could've got all my friends and family to kamloops we would be getting married at the Big equestrian inn on the river... the name has slipped my mind, but i love it there!!

You could go for a classy brazillian carnival theme, have some outdoor and indoor games and bold colours... Games are always fun   I went to one hotel this summer and they were having  a maquerade wedding, everyone was really dressed up with fancy masks

~*~ bought our first house, going on our first vacation, can't wait for the first day of our marriage~*~

You might be thinking about the South Thompson Guest Ranch.  We are living in Port Alberni right now but most of our family is in Kamloops (not to mention I prefer it there).  We are going there on the long weekend to visit and the Ranch is going to give us a tour.  I was thinking outside might be better for the reception too.  I guess I have to see what the area looks like exactly to get a good picture of what I could possibly do.
