This is just something I've noticed the last few months since we got our house.

The house didn't have a doorbell, so we went out and purchased a set of wireless doorbells - put one on the front door and one on the back, and then put one of the pluggy things in a plug that goes up the stairs, and one in the basement - this way, no matter where you are you in the house, you can hear the doorbell.

Yaye!

The only time ANYBODY has EVER rung the doorbell was Halloween - and only 2 kids rang it!!!

Everybody else knocks on the door (change that - POUNDS on the door).

Has anybody else noticed this???  Or are people just blind to the VERY WHITE doorbell screwed into the DARK BLUE frame?

It's a "novelty" type one too... so at Christmas I had it set to play jingle bells... and I never did get to hear anybody ring it

P.S. It does work btw... I check all the time just to see if maybe that's why it "seems" nobody bothers.  It works better than perfect and is very very loud!

If you want I could come by and randomly ring it for you!!!

We have the opposite problem in our apartment right now.  Our buzzer number isn't even listed yet there are a couple people who at least once a month buzz us at three in the morning to let them in.  They say they forgot their keys...then ring your own place you loser so your family can let you in!

Ha ha... I guess should be thankful at least we don't have that prob anymore! I used to HATE that!!!  Stupid people!!!

I'm gonna find the most obnoxious ring for the party I'm having tomorrow, and if nobody rings it I will FREAK!

My parents taught me when I was little that it's more polite to knock...knock twice, and then if nobody answers you ring the doorbell...The main reason is that you never know if there's a sleeping baby inside if you don't know the people, and also doorbells can be kinda loud and disruptive so it's better just to politely knock first, and then ring if nobody hears you...

That being said, nobody should be pounding on your door lol...

In 2 years I have hardly ever heard our doorbell. And the only people who knock are people we don't know or if the door is locked.

Our friends just always walk right in!

At our old house you couldnt hear any knock at all, so it had to be the doorbell. Well it was the loudest annoying doorbell ever! And it woke up Tessa all the time. So I taped over it. People still pushed it. Soi I put a sign saying please come into the porch and knock...still got rang..

You can call me 'Mommy Dearest'!!

Our doorbell is hardly ever rung, but I prefer it that way - it freaks out our cats   Of course, if they heard it ring more, they probably wouldn't be so scared of it....
