Today my FH and I went to do complete our gift registry.

As we were leaving, we realized the towels we wanted were on sale...so we decided to pick them up ourselves. My FH went upstairs to meet my sister who was in the mall waiting for us and I decided to check out. Anyways, a guy (sales associate) was there from the week before and he asked how we were doing etc. (really nice), I told him we were finally done...but I wanted to get a head start and buy some of my stuff myself since it was on sale (50% off Ralph Lauren towels, which were originally $45 each!), there was another sales associate there with him and she acted like the biggest #$@# in the world...in front of me she said "I don't understand people these days...you get married and you expect gifts and to make things worse YOU tell people what to buy you....what is this world coming too"...I couldn't believe it! Here I am in the "Gift Registry Department" and there's this idiot!...I immediately said to her..."Why the hell do you work here then if this is your opinion?" and I walked away.

I was fuming...my guess I should have said something...and come to think about it...my guess is I will say something...the only problem is I didn't get her name...but I think I may be able to describe her...

Do you think I'm reading too much into this??

no i don't think you're reading too much into it. i think that is rude and kind of stupid. i've heard other people say it but if you work at the bay i think you have to bite your tongue!

What a dolt.

When you have a wedding there will be many people who ask you what you want. You could either memorize a list of items and make sure the person asking has a pen handy, or simply tell them where you are registered. As long as the information is shared only when it is requested then there is NOTHING wrong with registering.

I would complain for sure! The Bay needs to know they have someone working for them that would express their views like that. Jules.

What a B***H! I dont think your thinking too far into it... I would complain to a manager. Not only did she say something like that... but you chose that store to register at which means they will be getting more buisness AND you were a present PAYING customer! I dont think she should have said anything...

GET HER FIRED!! GET HER FIRED!!!!  Oooh, that makes me boil!  Now a comment like that is rude.  Honestly, I would complain to a manager.  No, I wouldn't, because I'm a chicken, but I would make someone do it for me.  I know she won't get fired over that, but she ought to get in *&%$ anyway.  Teach her to keep her opinions to herself at the checkout.  I mean, she works in customer service - HONESTLY!  She could drive business away on the store.
