Mine actually have a room that can eat in.. but I might see if I can seat them with people that they know... ie. DJ is a friend of ours.. so.. why should he sit by himself..

Thats a great question that I never thought of, I would just ask your hall, they obviously have done it before, they will know where to sit them i'm sure!

As a wedding planner it is customary to have dinner served to "the help" as well. It is preferable if this is done in the same room as your guests since then your photographer, videographer, DJ, coordinator, etc are close at hand should they be needed.
As a respectful thing, if they are being served in the dining room with your guests it is preferable to serve them the same meal as your guests. This eliminates a lot of awkward questions from guests as to why 1 table is getting a different meal from another.
You should treat your "help" with as much respect as possible. Afterall, you trusted them and respected them enough to hire them. Why would you degrade or devalue them infront of your guests. Don't forget that 1/2 of what you paid for comes after the dinner is served.

| I went to a wedding where the DJ sat at our table. It was a lot of fun...put him with some of your friends maybe if there is place at their table. This is how this wedding was set up because there were 8 of the brides friends (that would be us and our dates) and the DJ and his assistant sat with us...guess what? we got to know this DJ and he is now doing our wedding in August because of how much fun he was!!

| Most halls will have you sit the "help" in the same banquet room as your guests --- but it's good to check first. But from all etiquette reading that I have done... you should NEVER sit them at the same table as any of your guests. They should have their own table all to themselves, usually towards the back of the hall/out of the way. This is because it could come across as offensive to some of your guests if they're seated at the same table as the "help" (ie: your good friend from highschool is seated at the same table as your photographer for the night.... how special will she really feel??). This is, of course, only what I have read about.... but whatever makes you feel more comfortable!
