My best friend and I got engaged on the same day.  We were super excited for each other as you can imagine.  Prob is that I now live out of the country and away from my friends which, as you can imagine, sucks major!!  And now, and I hate to sound resentful, but I get pictures of their engagement parties and stuff, which all of our friends went to and I can't go.  Sure we had a tiny one here, (a couple people over for dinner)  but I'm not as close to my friends here and it wasn't the same.  Now, both of our birthdays are this month and, of course they sent me pictures of the big party...which again, I can't go to or have a big one of my own with all my friends.

Oh, WOE IS ME!  I hate to be one of these "my friend's wedding is over shadowing mine! Wah, wah, wah, boo hoo!" girls that we read about. But it truly is and my engagement is totally lacking hype! Boo hoo!

I'm really sorry you feel this way... it's tough to be away from family and friends. At least you can see their pics and try to envision yourself there... close your eyes and take a mental holiday to be with them. Or, when all else fails spend a few dollars and call home ~ always cheers me up!

That is so sad! HUGS, HUGS AND MORE HUGS!! Make sure that you try your best to celebrate this time as you don't want to look back and say I wish I would have. Enjoying being a bride and if you are in the GTA, maybe join in on the dinner get togethers. I found that this was a great way to chat to other brides about wedding stuff as it is hard when you either don't know people around you or they are not planning a wedding.
