I just reached my goal yesterday! Woo hoo!

I went from 144 to 115lbs. in exactly 5 months. Wow, was it fun clothes shopping last week. My suggestions: Drink lots of water, write down everything you eat, having another weight loss buddy (or this message board), limit processed foods and salt intake. Good luck

OMG!! esquared....you go girl! Congratulations! That is great. Can you give us a sample menu of what you eat on an average day? I am always curious to know what people eat who have amazing results.

To lose the weight I ate per day: 3 veggies (most veggies are considered 1 cup, but certain ones like carrots, peas and corn are 1/2 cup), 2 fruit, 2 protein { 5oz of chicken (white), 4 oz if dark chicken, 4 oz pork or beef, 2 eggs etc}, 2 fats (1 tsp olive oil or butter or mayo), 2 starch {1 slice of bread (2 if you eat low fat Safeway 60% whole wheat), 1/2 of bun or english muffin, 1 6" tortilla, 1/2 cup cereal, 1/2 cup cooked pasta or 1/4 rice, etc}, 1 dairy {1 cup 1% milk,1 oz cheese, 6 oz yogurt etc} and one extra item (I usually chose a beer or glass of wine or a fat free fudgsicle, which is very good if you have a chocolate craving.)

The only thing I thought I was missing was calcium with only one dairy, so I take calcium supplements in addition to a multi vitamin.

Now that I am not trying to lose weight, I am starting to eat one more starch and fruit a day. In a couple of weeks I will increase my protein and veggie intake and then in 2 more weeks I will increase my dairy.

My sample meals were:

Breakfast:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup Special K (measure this out at first, you'd be surprised at how little it is, that's why I add a sliced banana to help fill up the bowl)
- 1/2 banana (this counts as 1 fruit)

Lunch:
- 4 oz pork (cooked previously) with olive oil and Mrs. Dash spicess
- 2 veggies ( I prefer steammed veggies to salads as I hate cold foods)

Snack:
- 1 fruit

Supper: Fajitas
- chicken (skinless and cooked with olive oil and spices
- tortilia
- Red & green peppers
- 1/2 oz shredded cheese (shredding it makes the 1/2 oz go way farther)

Snack:
1 fat free fudgsicle ( I try not to eat a couple of hours before I go to bed, but if I must I try to limit the carbs at night)

Because I made sure I ate 3 veggies and 2 fruit and at least 8 oz of water I never really felt really hungry. I didn't exercise, but on the odd day I did, I ate one more protein. Hope this info helps someone. It sure feels great to have met my goal. I have not weighed this little since about 1990.

Krazy - I was 260lbs last January, it took me a whole year to decrease to 240 lbs and since January I've dropped to 217lbs (another 20lbs).

Weight loss will NOT happen over night, it takes LOTS of time and patience. Eating habits are the #1 thing to change - I didn't change my habits until this January & look where I am today.

I have gone to the gym 3X per week since July of last year and no results until this year so that goes to show that eating habits are a big part of weight loss.

Everyone have a GREAT weekend, I'll be in on Monday with my weekly report
